photo update

Joe and I finally got Internet again. Hooray! So here are some pics of the boy.

Both Joe and I have clothes from when we were babies. I bought shadow boxes, put the clothes in there with our baby photos of us wearing that outfit and that is what is hanging in our nursery. We wanted to pass this tradition on to our kids, so we took Corban's picture in this outfit where we will save a photo of him and save this outfit for him.

I'm starting to feed Corban rice cereal once a day so he can get used to the idea of eating from a spoon and eating "regular" food. He's in his high chair with his arms tucked under the tray; we didn't chop them off or anything. He's not a huge fan of the whole cereal thing, but I did find out that he is a gagger, just like his mama.

what I do when my husband is home watching the boy..

I switched to digital scrapbooking a couple of months back, but I had a lot of left over paper. So, I bought a card magazine for inspiration and now make my own cards. Last night Joe watched Corban in between naps, so I took out my stuff and got to work. I now have enough birthday cards for the next couple of months!

Thanks husband for letting me have a night off and for letting me do something non-baby related.

corban update

We took Corban in for his 4 month shots. We didn't even make it to the scales before the poor little guy started crying. He is now 16 pounds and is over 2 feet tall! He had a little fever this time, but he's doing much better.

Vickie Update

My sister went in for surgery on Monday. They think they removed all the cancer and they don't think that it spread anywhere else. She goes back to the doc on Thursday and then starts chemo in February.

sad news

We found out a couple of days ago that my sister has breast cancer. We had a family fast for her today and she is going into surgery tomorrow and starting chemo next month. If you wouldn't mind, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

This whole experience has been a bit surreal, kind of like walking in a weird dream. I never ever imagined that this could happen to someone in my family. From experiences that have happened to other family members, and the love we have for each other, I know that she will have SO much support and love from all of us. Another sister told her kids about the news and told them that they were fasting. They all whole heartedly agreed that they like Vickie, they wanted to fast too! It's a bit humbling that these kind of experience bring us closer together, but I wouldn't trade all the experiences in the world for the family that I have. I love them all so much.
