iron woman

Do you ever have a conversation inside your head and then ask someone something related to that private conversation?

Well, that happened last night. Joe and I were laying on the couch after he got home from work. It was getting late, so I told Joe, "I could drag you to the bedroom on the blanket if you want me to."

What he didn't hear was:
I'm really tired. I want Joe to come to bed with me, but he always wants to stay on the couch for a few more minutes and watch TV and relax. I bet I could pull him on the blanket. That way he wouldn't have to stand up and walk on his tired feet.

We both had a good laugh and I did, in fact, drag him to our bedroom while he laid on top of a blanket. Iron Man here I come!

good vibrations

Corban hates this vibration chair. I guess I should say that he hates when I turn it on. This is his attempt at getting away from the vibrations. I even got a half smile from him!

quiet book

These are the last three pages of my quiet book. The first one is a number one. You pull the card out of the slot and it has the number on one side and objects on the other. The next page is a lace and tie your shoe. And the last page is zip up a tent. I couldn't find a bear, so there is a dog in the tent!

What cheezy faces on both of them!

happy birthday old man

Today is Joe's 27th birthday! He's basically an old man. I kept asking him what he wanted to do today, where he wanted to eat, etc. And he told me he'd think about it. Think about too long and you'll have to wait for next year. I did make him a sign and cupcakes with robot paper cups. I also got him two surprises. In fact, I'll tell you what they are since he never reads this blog any way. I got him a new shirt and a lamp (he doesn't like studying in our office because it's too dark). Practical presents, but I hope he likes them.

Today is also my brother's, Jeff, birthday.

Happy Birthday to two great guys!

projects and such

Can I first just say that my neighbors are machines. They are older gentlemen, but they are outside at the crack of dawn shoveling their driveways! Makes me feel a little lazy sitting inside wishing I were still in bed.

Anyhoo .. I finished my quiet book! It took a lot longer than I thought, but I like the end result. Joe and I were looking back through the pages and Joe found a mistake. I had inadvertently placed the letter J backwards! Is it bad that I want to leave it? I'll post pictures of the pages I didn't have before.

And finally, I am an official winner of a limited edition set of cookie cutters from Land O Lakes! Does anyone have the recipe for Grandma's Cookies? Especially the one with the pink frosting a mile thick?

spring is springing

I never knew that when robins come back, spring is coming. Well, the robins are definitely here and I definitely have spring fever! I'm so excited to go out side and start going for walks again.

quiet book

My mom made me and my siblings a quiet book that lasted all the way down to me. I remember loving it as a kid and now appreciate all the time and work that it must have taken to create that book. This is my version of a quiet book that I hope Corban and my future posterity will like.

This page is a pocket for paper, colored pencils, and paper.

Match the shapes to the correct shape. The pocket is to store the shapes that aren't being used.

Who doesn't love Tic-Tac-Toe? This way you don't have to draw your own game. I still need to add a few more snaps to finishe this page.

Match the colors.

Learn your ABCs.
Button the flowers on to the stems.

teeth!

Corban has his two bottom teeth! It's kind of hard trying to take a picture of a 5 month old's mouth when they are squirmy and trying to puch your fingers away with his tongue. Both pictures aren't the greatest, but you get the idea.

Are baby teeth supposed to come in croocked?

gratitude

I spent the last hour watching my friend's 2-year-old and she is HYPER! She's so smart and fun, but she is definately a WHOLE lot more than I'm used to; makes me grateful for Corban.

I have been working on a quiet book for Corban and have only completed one page. ONE! I'll take pics of my progess once I finish more than one page. My mom has had to tutor me on how to sew buttonholes on my sewing machine and she was also teaching me how to use a gromet machine. Lets just say that I cut the holes too big for the gromets and will have to think of something else to fill those holes.

I was going to add an updated pic of Corban but don't have any. We have taken so many pictures of him already but have slowly tappered off a bit. Our poor futur posterity, they're not gonna get any pictures taken of them!

poser

Last Sunday Corban and Joe were cuddeling on the couch. This was a rare moment of stillness. Corban is a good baby, but he's constantly moving.

arts and crafts

I've been wanting to make several things these past four months and now I'm starting them! I am in the process of making a T-shirt quilt and a quiet activity book. I've also wanted to make an eye spy game and finished that a couple of days ago. I had left over beads, so I made the following bean bags.

I have to give a shout out to my sister-in-law Peggy. She is so creative and crafty that she inspires me. Thanks.
