nursery decor

My mom and dad have been packing up their old house and moving into their new house. My mom found a box of old baby clothes and wanted me to pick out the ones I wanted to use. I didn't want to use any of them, but I did come up with this nursery decor idea.

Both of the outfits in the shadow boxes are ones that Joe and I wore when we were little; as you can tell from the photos in the right-hand corner of the frames. I think they turned out really cute.

Thanks to both of our moms for helping us get the outfits and photos!

Here are pictures a little closer to the frames.

books, books, books

A little old lady sells children's books out of her house in North Logan up by Lundstrom Park. She is a retired school teacher and is so cute! She has 2-3 sales a year and you typically have to read about her "yard sales" in the paper unless you call and find out the dates of the sales. She's had two sales already this year, but she is having one more right before Christmas. Anyway, I bought all these books and flashcards for under $50 which I think is amazing!

new glider rocker

As most of you know, we bought a used glider a while back. We had to do some pretty good cleaning to the rocker and Joe even tightened and glued all the loose parts back to normal. Well, I was rocking away one day and decided that the old rocker just wasn't up to par (it didn't help that I had sat in a really plush chair the day before), so we re-sold our old rocker and bought us a new one! We even made a $10 profit!
This one swivels, rocks, reclines, and came with an ottoman. For all of you ottoman haters, I was once a part of your ranks but have since fallen in love with the mini-me rocker. It is wonderful to put my tired, swollen, sauage-like feet up and rest for a bit.

who's belly is it?

Joe, the loving husband that he is, gained 8 pounds of sympathy weight with me during my first trimester. I don't think he's actually gained any more weight since then, but he has gotten a desk job and a job counting pills ... you figure out where all his muscle weight is going.

Can you figure out who's belly is which one?

field of dreams

Our ward is playing softball. I'm benched for now, but Joe is loving it! He's always been a soccer kind of guy and never really ventured into softball/baseball. During the first game, the other team over threw the ball at first, so he ran to second. Well, there was a guy from our ward on second already. The other team luckily threw the ball to first base so the other guy from our ward ran to third base. Oops! Joe is a good sport about it though; he's not afraid to try new things.

pictures galore

As promised, here are some pictures. Yikes. I'm not that photogenic!

The ultrasound in the picture is an old one. It was when he was 13 weeks along. Joe and I are coming closer to agreeing on a name so we won't have to keep calling him "it" "the boy" "our baby". Picking a name is unusually stressful.

Forgive the expression. It was early in the morning and I was tired. In fact, I'm still tired.

Notice the whie polka-dot robe in the background. I got that for mother's day. It is from Victoria's Secret and oh, so comfortable.

makeover madness

So I promised everyone pics of my earrings and new do, but after careful consideration, I am unable to deliver. You see, I took pictures, I have pictures, but I have a water-filled face that makes me look like I've eaten Krispy Kream out of business. So I'm going to drown my sorrows in a couple more Subway cookies!

starburst memories

Smith's Marketplace has candy on sale all of the time! Recently, I bought Skittles and Starburst. Starburst candy will always hold a special place in my heart.

When I was going to school at the College of Eastern Utah, me and a friend went hiking. Because of volleyball and trying to stay in shape, I tried to stay away from candy during the season. It was Easter and I swiped some Starbursts from my roommate. I went hiking, popped a Starburst in my mouth, and fainted! Yes, my mouth overwatered, I tried to breath and swallow at the same time, started choking, and passed out. I could tell that my friend was overly concerned because all he did was look at me and ask, "You alright, buddy?"

Ah ... good times.

down in the boondocks

Lately I've been feeling frumpy and overall unattractive with my big pregnant self. So, I went to Claire's in the mall and got my ears pierced and then went to the salon and got my hair did too! I'm feeling beautiful again. =)

When I got home last night, Joe kept staring and smilling. "I like your hair," he kept saying. After about the 10th time of him saying this, I wondered if he didn't like my hair before.

When I feel ambitious enough I'll take and post pictures.
