sweatin' to the oldies

Joe and I are on a weight-loss plan. We're exercising and eating better. We've even taken before pictures to compare at the end. Don't worry though, we won't be posting any of those pictures on here. You can, wish us luck though.

bad medicine

I won't tell you why he needed it, but Corban needed medicine. Joe got the syringe and was dosing. There was an air bubble so, naturally, he turned the syringe and tried to push the air out. I heard a pop, swish, and splat. There was medicine on the ceiling, on the table, and on the floor! Unfortunately, it got on my primary lesson and a blanket I'm making for a sister-in-law.

Later that same night we were getting Corban ready for bed. We stripped him naked and wanted him to follow me to the bathroom. He made it around the side of the couch before we had our own little lake in our living room! He looked at it and looked a little concerned that water was coming out of him down there. He then stepped in it and ran away from me who was desperately trying to get to him before he got it all over the place. I then had to clean up a pee puddle and pee footprints.

No pictures of these events were taken.

hey baby

Yep. This is Corban's attempt at winking.

just the two of us

Joe has been working hard this past semester. He has classes every day except Tuesday and works 12 hour shifts every Tuesday and Thursday. Today we all woke up a little later than usual (thank heaven). Joe hopped in the shower while I fed Corban. I then got back into bed and waited for Joe to finish getting ready so I could drive him to work. He got after me about getting out of bed, getting the boy's coat on, and warming up the car. Well, he was so concerned about me that he accidently put on two different shoes! I'm still giggling about it. Corban and I had lunch with Joe today and was able to switch the shoes. Nobody at work noticed, but I'm sure they'll check his shoes from now on.

snow removal

Our driveway has been one sheet of ice for the past two months. It's been warming up here lately (just above freezing), so we took out the hammer and shovel and went to work de-icing the driveway.

We had been working for about 15 minutes when our neighbor, Mr. Newbold, came over and spread rock salt over the entire sheet. Why didn't we think of that? Needless to say, the work went by a lot faster after the ice melted even more.

Corban was in heaven watching us and playing in the ice. I think he tasted every chunk of ice we broke off. I'm pretty sure he got his share of sodium that day. His hands turned a bright pink before his genius mother got him some gloves. There was water beneath the ice, so his pants were soaked up to his shins.

Thanks Mr. Newbold, for saving the day and our backs!

sickies

Corban has been sick the past couple of days with an ear infection and upper respiratory infection. He's actually happy today, which is a good sign, but I've gotten sick in his place.

Who takes care of the mom when she's sick?

long time coming

I've had to re-baby proof my house. Corban can now reach the cupboard handles and loves to move my beans around. These are in the bottom cupboards of the china hutch. He also likes to put them in the sliding doors.
